An instrument created by Paul Tanner, also known as a "Tannerin" or "Tanner's box." It is very similar to the theremin, but instead of two antennas that are used to control volume and pitch, a knob and a slide are used (thus it is more accurate and easier to play.) It is widely believed to be a real theremin that is played on The Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations," but it is in fact an eletro-theremin played by Paul Tanner himself. Tanner also played on The Beach Boys' "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times" and "Wild Honey."
