1967 Luis Buñuel movie, starring a young
Catherine Deneuve as
Sverine, a young woman married to a
doctor.
Overpriveleged and bored, Sverine's masochistic fantasies lead her to get a job as a prostitute, unbeknown to her husband. Meanwhile, her marriage is chaste.
Compared to some of Bunuel's other work, this is pretty straightforward stuff. I mean, there's a narrative, of all things. Still, it's not everyday you see a "proper" film where a beautiful, naked, nubile girl has horse manure thrown at her, while tied to a pole.
