Front of Board: the area in a concert venue in front of the sound board. That is, close to the band. And in the center. FOB is where you can find tapers taping. Just look for the people who aren't dancing, who aren't moving their heads or shoulders. Celebrated FOB spots include the drink rail at the Warfield, under the mirror ball at the fillmore and Section 102, row S, seat 26 at Shoreline Amphitheater.
