Text of a bumper sticker produced by the Montgomery County, Virginia Republican party, supporting George Allen in his 2000 Senate race against Chuck Robb.

Those with some knowledge of Allen's history found this funny right from the start, given that Allen was a backup quarterback for University of Virginia as an undergrad, arch-rivals of the Virginia Tech Hokies. A university professor raised a complaint about this sticker, and managed to score a front-page interview in the Collegiate Times, where all he managed to do is make a fool of himself. Larry Hincker, the university vice president in charge of licensing said in effect that, even if they could fight this unlicensed use of VT's "Hokies" trademark in political speech like they can with commercial speech, they had bigger fish to fry.
