A polyphonic analog orchestral synthesizer with a 48-note keyboard. Released in 1979.

The Lambda offers 9 preset sounds, and is dibided into two sections. The percussion section features pianos, clavis and harmonics, while the ensemble section offers brass, strings, organ and choruses.

The sounds are generated by 3 VCOs, modulated by a 60/120/360 degree LFO to create basic ensemble sounds. A single VCF plus two discrete VCA EGs per voice (!) affect the instruments individually. Vibrato and chorus effects are also available.

For interfacing with other equipment, the Lambda includes a gate-out. Reportedly third party MIDI retrofit kits are very easy to install on the ES-50.
