The Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded every year since 1901 with the exception of 1916, 1917, 1919, 1924, 1933, 1940, 1941 and 1942 when the award money was distributed back into the Special Fund for Chemistry or portioned out between the Chemistry Fund and the Main Fund. Each Nobel Laureate receives a medal and prize money to go with their fame.
