Nortriptyline is a
prescription drug sold to treat
depression; its trade names include
Aventyl and
Pamelor. It blocks the activity of
histamine and and
acetylcholine. It increases the
pressor effect of
norepinephrine but blocks the
pressor response of
phenethylamine. Studies indicate that this drug interferes with the
transport,
release, and storage of
catecholamines.
Information about its side effects can be found in the Pamelor node.
