Authorized Version | Psalms | Psalm 119

ק KOPH

145 I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O LORD: I will keep thy statutes.
146 I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep thy testimonies.
147 I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in thy word.
148 Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.
149 Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O LORD, quicken me according to thy judgment.
150 They draw nigh that follow after mischief: they are far from thy law.
152 Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.

From the Great Bible, 1540 edition (known as Cranmer's Bible). Set in the Book of Common Prayer, 1662, for Evening Prayer on the twenty-sixth day of the month.

Clamavi in toto corde meo.

I call with my whole heart : hear me, O Lord, I will keep thy statutes.
146 Yea, even unto thee do I call : help me, and I shall keep thy testimonies.
147 Early in the morning do I cry unto thee : for in thy word is my trust.
148 Mine eyes prevent the night-watches : that I might be occupied in thy words.
149 Hear my voice, O Lord, according unto thy loving-kindness : quicken me, according as thou art wont.
150 They draw nigh that of malice persecute me : and are far from thy law.
151 Be thou nigh at hand, O Lord : for all thy commandments are true.
152 As concerning thy testimonies, I have known long since : that thou hast grounded them for ever.

From the Vulgate, where it is listed, according to the Catholic manner, as Psalm 118.:

Clamavi in toto corde exaudi me Domine praecepta tua custodiam.
Invocavi te salvum me fac et custodiam testimonia tua.
Surgebam adhuc in tenebris et clamabam verbum tuum expectans.
Praeveniebant oculi mei vigilias ut meditarer in sermonibus tuis.
Vocem meam audi iuxta misericordiam tuam Domine secundum iudicium tuum vivifica me.
Adpropinquaverunt persecutores mei sceleri et a lege tua procul facti sunt.
Prope es tu Domine et omnia mandata tua veritas.
A principio novi de testimoniis tuis quod in aeternum fundaveris ea.

The psalm in either case may be followed by the Gloria Patri.
