Miles earned his first
DJ residency at a club near Venice aged 17. He was also the director of programming on an
Italian radio station, his shows influenced by Future Sound Of London and Robert Fripp.
In 1996, the 'electronic composer' won worldwide acclaim when 'Children', inpired by the Yugoslavian conflict, sold 13 million, becoming Europe's biggest hit that year. His album Dreamland (1996) sold 8 million and earned him a BRIT (British music award) for best newcomer. His next album 23am (1997) starred Soulstress Kathy Sledge and furthered his tradition of ambient trance, dubbed 'Dream House'.
