Seppo Ed Farrey is a former Zen monk who served as head chef at Dai Bosatsu Zendo in New York for a number of years. He now lives in Seattle, where he teaches cooking classes on a regular basis. He is also the author of 3 Bowls (Houghton Mifflin, 2000), a book that contains excellent vegetarian recipes-- including many credible substitutes for customary holiday meals-- as well as beautiful calligraphy by Eido T. Shimano Roshi.
