Second solo album by Kristin Hersh. One time member of seminal left field rockers Throwing Muses. Once again she eschews the fully plugged in and rocking out sound of Throwing Muses. Favouring instead to let her own nakedly confessional voice be framed by acoustic guitar and occasional piano or gentle percussion. She can still project startling emotional power though as exemplified by the track Home.

Also a 1989 Laurie Anderson album. Cover photography by Robert Mapplethorpe. Guest appearance by Bobby McFerrin. A good album, especially placed in the late '80s alternative pop pantheon (this album is considerably less strange than her mid-80s material, as evidenced by the mainstream musicians like McFerrin on it.)
