Acronym for the Toronto Stock Exchange in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Stocks from all across Canada are traded on the TSE, Canada's most well-known stock exchange. Canada's token high-tech company, Nortel makes up a great deal of the value of the TSE.

Also stands for the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Japan's largest at some 80% of national trade.

The two main indicies are the Nikkei 225 (aka "the Nikkei"), and the Tokyo Stock Price Index (aka "the TOPIX")

TSE also stands for transmissible spongiform encephalopathy. These are neurodegenerative diseases such as CJD and BSE which have been brought to public prominence in the light of the recent BSE epidemic in Britain which resulted in the ban on the export of British beef. Other human TSEs include kuru in Papua New Guinea, which is believed to be transmitted in the course of funerary rituals involving the brains of corpses; Gerstmann-Sträussler-Schenker (G.S.S.) syndrome (occurring in persons with an apparent hereditary predisposition) and fatal familial insomnia.
