Wan Chai is a district in Hong Kong. It's situated on the north side of Hong Kong Island between Central and Admiralty to the east, Causeway Bay to the west, and Happy Valley to the south.

Wan Chai was first brought to the public's attention with the publication of Richard Mason's novel The World of Suzie Wong in 1957 and the release of its weak film version in 1960. Although the buildings have changed, much of the flavor is the same: discos, Filipino bands, hostess bars, and prostitutes. All in all, lots of fun if you think Lan Kwai Fong is too refined or if you share Travis Bickle's ideas of what makes a good date.
