A word or short phrase written in highly stylized letters, such that it can be read in two different ways. Most commonly, designed so that it reads the same if you rotate it 180 degrees. The word MOW is a natural ambigram of this sort, but usually these only work with the stylized letters.

Invented by Douglas Hofstadter in the early 1980s.
