A term
coined recently (
Origin unknown), used frequently in the
investment community. It refers to the shakeup and
stock plunge starting in late 2000 where many of the "
dot com" startups' stock is plummeting, and sending companies into
bankruptcy at the rate of about 2 or 3 a day.
Many of these companies are dying out because they went on a cool idea with no actual
business model or
revenue generation planned. There are some sites on the net that keep up to date with which companies are the latest casualties in the "
Dot Bomb Experience."
