Occasionally, the ritual of playing matchmaker is performed by someone who has more than a passing interest in the female party, because said performer is either
1. Taken
or
2. An emotional vampire, who wants something else to be sad about.
Such was the case with one of my best friends! He set me up with one hell of a chick, then got mad at me when I went out with her. He ended up finding his perfect mate, though, and it was a sweet ending.
