A cup especially used to hold beer. Usually is tall, metalic or ceramic and has a long handle. Sometimes has a lid attached to the handle.
This thing is not really called a stein in Germany. The correct term is Maß. When you order a maß beer in e. g. The Hoffbrauhaus you get 1 litre of beer served in a Maß like Woundweavr described earlier.
