Stubby beer bottle

The old Canadian 12 ounce beer bottle. A shorter, plumper, better bottle and Canadian icon.

25% smaller size and weight than long-necks
more cost efficient in storage and shipping
made up to 25 recycles before being discarded (15 times more than the long-neck--less waste and higher cost reduction)
its amber colour protects the beer from harmful light rays
harder to tip, so less breakage and beer wasteage
easier to handle
beer chills more quickly in a stubby (Doubt it. Though they probably stay chilled longer. Thanks, discofever.)

History:
15 Canadian breweries converted from green long-neck bottles to these compact amber stubbies on March 1, 1962. By 1964 stubbies were all over Canada. But, in 1983, with the introduction of the American brand, Miller High Life, stubbies started becoming extinct.
