Temazepam is a mild sedative and hypnotic prescribed for the short term treatment of insomnia and anxiety. It can cause physical and psychological dependence, but is considered useful because it begins working after the first dose and is less toxic, has fewer side effects, and a lower potential for abuse than other drugs used for the same purposes.
Sold as Restoril. This hypnotic prescription drug is used to treat insomnia.
