The southeastern-most county in Wisconsin. Main city: Kenosha. Approximate 1999 population: 1.2 million.

Kenosha County has a bit of an identity crisis going. It's right on the border between Wisconsin and Illinois, and it's at the center of the growing Chicago-Milwaukee Metropolitian Area. A lot of long-time area residents claim to hate the people moving up from Chicago, but they're bringing a much-needed cash infusion to the area.

Kenosha County is struggling with growth, but luckily most residents have accepted the fact that change in inevitable, and some parts of Wisconsin can't remain rural any more.
