The temperature above which a substance ceases to be ferromagnetic (magnetic even in the absence of the inducing field). The aligned domains (regions of same electron spin) of the material are broken up by thermal motions.

The Curie temperature of iron is 768°C, and that of nickel is 3580°C. The symbol is TC.

The phenomenon is named for Pierre Curie.
