Weight: 9.3 pounds
Evolution: -(rare candy)-> Persian

Meowth (pronounced "meow") is a Pokemon, that resembles a cat. It has cream-colored fur with brown tips (resembling a Siamese) and a coin-like charm in the middle of its forehead. It is pretty much like a real cat. Meowth lives mostly in urban areas and is attracted to shiny things.
It is based on the Maneki Neko (Lucky/Money cat), a popular talisman in Japan (as well as in China and Asian-American communities in the United States), often seen in restaurants and businesses, to bring good luck, in the form of money, and customers to its owners' establishments. The cat is often depicted as holding a Koban, a gold coin from the Edo period, similar to the one on Meowth's forehead.
In the Pokemon anime, a Meowth appears as one of the main antagonists. This Meowth can talk and walk on his hind legs and assists Team Rocket members Jessie and James in their plots against protagonist Ash Ketchum, his Pikiachu, and their friends. In the episode Go West, Young Meowth, Meowth tells his backstory. We learn how and why he learned to talk and walk like a human and how he came to join Team Rocket.
In the video games, Meowth originally appeared as an exclusive character in Pokemon Blue and has appeared in every official game in the series ever since. Meowth has also made appearances in
