A creation of
Dutch producer
Jaap Eggermont, it was inspired by a
bootleg remix of
sixties songs of the early
1980s.
Eggermont hired
Bas Muys,
Hans Vermeuien and
Okkie Huysdens to sing
John Lennon,
George Harrison and
Paul McCartney's voices.
Thus the Stars On 45 Beatles Medley was born.
You can boogie like disco, love that disco sound
Turn up the volume and move it all around
But don't, don't, don't, don't, don't forget
Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't forget
The Stars on '45 keep on turning in your mind
Like "We Can Work it Out"
Remember "Twist and Shout"
You still don't "Tell Me Why" and "No Reply"
After the huge success of the medley, they recorded several other medleys of
ABBA,
Stevie Wonder and famous songs of the 60's.
Songs covered, a bar or two at a time:
You know you're a child of the 80's if... you remember the words to the Stars On 45 Beatles Medley
