Dutch group of artists founded in 1917, and an aesthetic movement influencing primarily architecture, but also painting, decorative arts (including furniture design) and typography. Worked in an abstract style, with a love for geometry and clarity. They only wanted to practice art in a logical manner, and believed that their art was a perfect connection between an individual and society at large. The theories of the group are popularized by the german Bauhaus movement and the International Style.

Dutch for "The Style". The group published a periodical with the same name from 1917 to 1932.
