("The courts")
In The Two Towers (second volume of the The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien), Edoras was the capital city of Rohan, wherein was to be found Meduseld, the golden hall of Rohan's Kings.
Located at the foot of the northern stretch of the White Mountains, at the mouth of Harrowdale, Edoras was founded some time before 2570 III, either by the first king of Rohan, Eorl the Young, or by his son, Brego.
