Tripwire is a computer security program to detect tampering with file contents. Created by Gene Spafford and Gene Kim, a project of the COAST security group at Purdue University.
A wire used to trigger a trap or an alarm. Typically, a tripwire is lain on the ground or slightly off of it so that it is triggered when someone or something passes by.
