Hip new members of a
profession which has traditionally been
stereotyped as belonging to dull, repressed
spinsters. Sometimes called
information professionals or other
inelegant neologisms.
Young Librarians on the Go may aspire to the example of:
--Rogue Librarians like William Moffett, the former Librarian of Oberlin College, who was known to personally hunt down and apprehend book thieves. He later achieved fame by his controversial decision to give all scholars access to photographs of the Dead Sea Scrolls during his time as the head of the Huntington Library.
--Sexy Librarians like Rupert Giles of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Marian the Librarian in The Music Man.
For other species, see also Conan the Librarian, Librarian in Love, the librarian of Unseen University, and this rather odd Iron Librarian.
