It's this close to being a pun. A bad pun. As it is, it's just an awful joke.
A Flighting Schedule is the nightly order of what's airing on television. The term is used in reference to various things, from the lineup of sketches in a comedy show to everything showing on a particular network, to everything showing on every network. Everything from shows to news to commercials to promos, all organized in a nice, neat list - the TV listing in your regional major newspaper is an (admittedly primitive) flighting schedule. Used another way, it can refer to the airing dates of a particular program.
It has cross-media usages as well, applying equally to radio and television.
Flighting Schedule as a term is almost a pun because it refers to the order in which programming takes to the air...waves. Yeah, I know.
