Authorized Version | Psalms | Psalm 119
ל LAMED
89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
91 They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.
92 Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.
93 I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
94 I am thine, save me: for I have sought thy precepts.
95 The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.
96 I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.

From the
Great Bible,
1540 edition (known as
Cranmer's Bible). Set in the
Book of Common Prayer,
1662, for
Evening Prayer on the twenty-fifth day of the month.
In æternum, Domine.
O Lord, thy word : endureth for ever in heaven.
90 Thy truth also remaineth from one generation to another : thou
hast laid the foundation of the earth, and it abideth.
91 They continue this day according to thine ordinance : for all
things serve thee.
92 If my delight had not been in thy law : I should have perished in
my trouble.
93 I will never forget thy commandments : for with them thou hast
quickened me.
94 I am thine, O save me : for I have sought thy commandments.
95 The ungodly laid wait for me to destroy me : but I will consider
thy testimonies.
96 I see that all things come to an end : but thy commandment is
exceeding broad.
From the
Vulgate, where it is listed, according to the
Catholic manner, as
Psalm 118.:
In aeternum Domine verbum tuum perstat in caelo.
In generatione et generatione fides tua fundasti terram et stat.
Iudicio tuo stant usque hodie quia omnia serviunt tibi.
Nisi quod lex tua delectatio mea forte perissem in pressura mea.
In sempiternum non obliviscar praeceptorum tuorum quia per ipsa vivificasti me.
Tuus ego sum salva me quoniam praecepta tua quaesivi.
Me expectaverunt impii ut perderent me testimonium tuum considerabo.
Omni consummationi vidi finem latum mandatum tuum nimis.
The psalm in either case may be followed by the
Gloria Patri.
