rap artist from
Finland.
Seremoniamestari (whose
real name is
Matti Nousiainen) was born and raised in
Espoo, but moved to the
west side of
Tampere to study
theatrical sound design. He released several
demo tapes before finally getting a record contract with
Spinefarm Records'
Ranka Recordings sub-
label.
SM doesn't take himself or his music 100% seriously, and doesn't
pretend to be an
african american gangsta from
Compton. He also uses his
native tongue instead of translating his
thoughts and fighting with
pronounciation using
English. Maybe because of this fact along with his
funny lyrics taken from
real life, he is
gaining popularity beyond the usual
hiphop crowd.
SM's
music is produced by one of the most talented
Finnish DJ teams,
Skillsters. His
debut album also
features visiting artists such as the
notorious Petri Nygård.
In case you were wondering, the
alias Seremoniamestari is the
literal finnish translation of
master of ceremonies.
