Wanaka Beerworks is a tiny
brewery on the fringe of the popular mountain resort
Wanaka on the south island of
New Zealand. Funnily enough located on the premises of teeny weeny
Wanaka Airport, they have a large group of
stout followers who would never drink anything else than their products. The brewery is about the size of my living room (which is pretty small) and, er, densely packed with sacks of German brewing
yeast.
Fiercely independent, the brewery applies the methods of the German Reinheitsgebot and unfortunately distributes their beer only in New Zealand.
They have three main products, although they conjure up plenty of specialty beers throughout the year:
You can visit the brewery every day at 2pm to check out the brewing process, buy a couple of bottles and chat with the friendly staff.
