Electronic Music is a unique style of music which can most easily be related to tribal music of earlier generations in the sense that it is based around a repetitive groove, and not conventional musical structures typically found in such styles as rock music. Normally, electronic music can be heard at raves and all-night dance clubs where DJs - or disc jockeys - mix vinyl records using two turntables and a DJ mixer.

As is evident in its name, this style of music is created with electronic devices, including but not limited to samplers, computers, sequencers, synthesizers, mixers, drum machines, compressors, effects processors, and samplers. Electronic Music - or "electronica" as some might call it - encompases many sub-genres. Some of these sub-genres include house music, jungle, drum & bass, breaks, hardcore, trance, and techno.

Electronica and its many sub-genres are becoming increasingly evident in popular music which we often hear on commercial radio. Some people may consider this to be a negative thing, while others may consider it the way of the future. Regardless, it is the reality of the current music industry.
