Emotional
understanding of another's
feelings. Many think that
hackers lack this and only relate to their
machines. This is a
misconception. We think
logically and expect others to also, and so have little
sympathy for those who pout about their
problems yet refuse to help themselves.
A class of (idiotically illegal) drugs called the empathogens (also 'entactogens') has the remarkable ability to enhance and stimulate feelings of empathy. MDMA (Ecstasy) is one.
