KaZaA (idea)

There are some nifty tools that enhance the performance of Kazaa. Here are some:

• Kazaa SpeedUp - Accelerates downloads by automatically scanning for more sources at user-defined intervals. Please note that the freeware version includes some adware. SpeedUp works with both Kazaa and Kazaa Lite. You can download it at www.download.com.
• KazaaHttp - Enables Kazaa to tunnelthrough a standard http proxy. This is useful if you want to run Kazaa at work for example. You can download it at www.download.com.
• KaZupernodes - Lists the IP addresses of all SuperNodes near you, and lets you choose the fastest one for Kazaa to use. I'd recommend this tool for advanced users. You can download it at www.fasttrackhelp.com.

If you are frustrated with Kazaa itself, it's worth trying out file-sharing applications with alternative network architectures such as like Limewire, Bearshare, Blubster and Morpheus.
