SoundLab is a
nomadic, roving, recurring
multimedia art and music event created and curated by the
Cultural Alchemy crew. SoundLab events originally began as
experiments in
1995 in
Chinatown, as part of
NYC's
downtown "
illbient"
electronic music scene. SoundLabs combine
DJs and live electronic musicians from many
diverse genres with
visual art,
video and
film projection into a completely
immersive experience that they call "
electrotectural." SoundLab regulars include
DJ Singe,
MC Verb,
Byzar,
DJ Spooky,
I-Sound,
DJ Soul Slinger,
Anti-Pop Consortium,
DJ Wally, and
Ambassador jr.
