What to node? The eternal question in Everything2. A blank page is both a blessing and a curse. If you ever find yourself in this situation, fear not! Here we present a list of one thousand articles that all Wikipedias should have, in as many languages as possible.
This list is based on Version 1.1 which is the first of its kind to have 1000 articles and is more or less a consensus of the Wikimedia movement. Emphasis comes from the original.
Please note that the criteria for inclusion in this list is… complicated to say the least, and outside of the scope of E2. This is not exactly a well-balanced view of the world and its topics, it should serve:
as a guideline for {Wikipedias} so that they will contain a minimum amount of basic, useful information. This way, people will be encouraged to use these projects and help in their growth. The articles should contain at least basic information on the topics they describe, thus providing a starting point for growth besides being a useful reference for the readers.
Of course, E2 is not restricted to Wikimedia’s politics of inclusion and notability, so if you spot something that you think should be here, feel free to use this as a starting point for your writing endeavors.
Preliminary notes
- Bold entries come from the original, indicating «Top-priority» articles
- The E2 editor of this list has tried to link all entries to its corresponging node in E2, accounting for differences in spelling; but there may be some mistakes left. If you spot one, please notify them to yours truly or your friendly neighborhood content editor.
- If you’re looking for easy targets for the Iron Noder challenge, check out this daylog. I’ll try to update regularly on the progress of this list!
