A song by Timotheus:

Ugly

(Copyright (c) 2000, used with permission)

"It was ugly" was an ugly thing to say

Could you not have said it any other way?

I'm looking back and it makes me feel okay

I made mistakes, but be that as it may

"It was ugly" was an ugly thing to say

I did not speak of the story that you read

I did not tell them what it was that you said

Nor do they know that you wanted me dead

I made mistakes, but be that as it may

"It was ugly" was an ugly thing to say

A fire in the heart, tongue as sharp as a dart

A jerk, an asshole, it is all in the dark

Codependent were we, we thought we were smart

I made mistakes, but be that as it may

"It was ugly" was an ugly thing to say

You were addicted, addicted to me

I was very high that evening when you ran free

The truth, it was too ugly for you to see

I made mistakes, but be that as it may

"It was ugly" was an ugly thing to say

I laugh a lot now at the killer whale tank

I've got no one else but me, myself to thank

Detonate, fire, only into your own rank

I made mistakes, but be that as it may

"It was ugly" was an ugly thing to say

"It was ugly" was a cruel thing to say

Could you not have put it any other way?

I'm looking back and it makes me feel okay

I made mistakes, but be that as it may

"It was ugly" was an ugly thing to say
